This tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the riverside reserve, regenerating bush, and village tracks, while learning about the flora, fauna, and surprising local stories.
As you wander along the river''s edge, through tranquil casuarina forest, and via charming village streets, you''ll have the chance to observe an abundance of birdlife, kangaroos, and eastern water dragons. You''ll also visit a picturesque fishing spot with breathtaking views over the river, perfect for capturing unforgettable memories.
Kotahi Tourism provides binoculars for individual use, allowing you to get up close and personal with the local wildlife. The tour operates daily from 3 pm to 4.30 pm, with private tour options available if you''d like to bring your dog or request a different time.
Please note that while much of the riverside walk was unaffected by the bushfires of December 2019/January 2020, some areas of casuarina forest were burnt. However, you''ll still see signs of regeneration and plenty of birdlife.
